Run shell commands, scripts, and build tools directly on your machine. Starlight sees your terminal output in real time and acts on it — just like pair programming with a senior engineer.
Starwork
Starwork connects Starlight to your PC — run commands, edit files, control your mouse and keyboard, automate desktop apps, even upload videos to YouTube. All from one chat. Your machine, your tools, your AI.
One connection. Your whole machine.
Starwork bridges Starlight's intelligence directly to your desktop — no sandbox, no cloud, no copy-paste. Shell, files, mouse, keyboard, screen. Your whole machine, controlled from chat.

Read, write, and edit files without leaving the chat. Starlight navigates your project tree, opens files, makes changes, and saves — all with your explicit permission on every action.
Starlight takes screenshots of your desktop and actually sees what's on screen — buttons, menus, text, dialogs. It can find a "Publish" button, read a confirmation dialog, or spot a specific icon, so it always knows where to click.
Click, type, scroll, drag, press keys, and chain hotkeys — Starlight controls your mouse and keyboard with pixel precision. It can navigate any desktop app that a human can.
Automate any desktop application — upload videos to YouTube, fill out forms in Chrome, manage files in Explorer, or control creative tools. If you can do it with a mouse, Starlight can do it for you.
A live overlay shows what Starlight is doing in real time. Press ESC anytime to abort. Every action is audit-logged. Permission modes let you approve each action, auto-approve everything, or restrict to read-only.
Yes. Starwork refuses to run as administrator or root, opens no network ports, and only communicates with the Starlight server over an encrypted WebSocket. Every action — shell commands, mouse clicks, key presses — is visible on screen via a live overlay and written to an audit log. Press ESC at any time to instantly abort whatever Starlight is doing.
Starlight can run shell commands, read and write files, work with Git, take screenshots, click, type, scroll, drag, press keys and hotkeys, find text and buttons on screen, locate images, list and focus windows, and automate any desktop application — like uploading a video to YouTube, filling out a form in Chrome, or organizing files in Explorer. In ask mode, you approve every action before it runs. In read-only mode, it can look but not touch. In auto mode, it runs everything without asking — use that one carefully.
Read-only — Starlight can take screenshots, read files, and list windows but cannot execute commands, write files, or control the mouse and keyboard. Ask per action — the bridge prompts you (y/n) before each action. Press a to auto-approve the rest of the session. Auto-approve — all actions run without asking. Use with caution.
Local bridge tools (shell, files) work with Orbit and above. OS automation tools (mouse, keyboard, screen, desktop control) require the Nova plan. The bridge itself is free and open source — you just need a Starlight account with API access. See plans.
Yes. Starwork runs as a terminal application — keep the window open while you're working with Starlight. If you close it, the connection drops and Starlight falls back to the cloud sandbox. When you reopen it, the connection restores automatically.
No. Starlight will never type passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive credentials. The system prompt explicitly forbids this, and you should always enter passwords yourself. If Starlight needs to log into a website, it will ask you to type the password manually.
Windows is available now as a standalone executable — no Python installation required. Everything is bundled: screen reading, image matching, and all automation libraries. macOS and Linux builds are coming soon.
Yes. Cloud sandbox (sandbox_*), local bridge (local_*), and OS automation (os_*) tools can all be active simultaneously. Starlight chooses the right tool based on context — it might build in the isolated sandbox, run tests on your local environment, and automate a desktop app in the same conversation.
Bring the AI to your machine. Control everything from chat.
