Content Policy

1. Overview

This Content Policy describes what you may and may not create, upload, or distribute using the Starlight Service. It is incorporated into and governed by our Terms of Service.

Starlight is designed to be a powerful creative and engineering tool. We want you to build freely — code, art, music, games, tools, and more. This policy exists to keep the Service safe, legal, and respectful of the rights of others.

By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy. You are solely responsible for the content you generate and share.

2. Core Principles

• Create freely. Starlight does not impose arbitrary restrictions on creative expression. We default to permissive generation and intervene only where content causes real harm or violates law.
• Respect others. Do not generate content that harms, deceives, or exploits real people.
• Own your output. You are responsible for what you create. Verify it before publishing.
• Be honest. Do not use the Service to deceive people into believing AI-generated content is human-created where disclosure matters.

3. Permitted Content

You are encouraged to use Starlight for a wide range of creative and technical work, including but not limited to:

• Source code, scripts, build tools, and automation pipelines;
• Game design, level layouts, character concepts, and rigging logic;
• 3D models, textures, shaders, and visual effects;
• Music, sound effects, voice synthesis, and audio mixing;
• Images, illustrations, and video content;
• Technical documentation, tutorials, and educational materials;
• Personal projects, prototypes, and experimental art.

Commercial use of generated content is permitted, subject to the ownership terms in our Terms of Service.

4. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Service to generate, store, or distribute any of the following categories of content:

• Sexual content involving minors. Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or depicts minors is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to relevant authorities.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery. Realistic depictions of identifiable real people in sexual or intimate situations without their consent.
• Content that promotes or depicts violence, harm, or exploitation of real, identifiable individuals.
• Harassment or bullying. Content that targets a specific real person with abuse, threats, intimidation, or coordinated harassment.
• Hate speech. Content that promotes discrimination, vilification, or violence against groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
• Terrorism and violent extremism. Content that promotes, incites, or provides material support for terrorist acts or violent extremist ideologies.
• Illegal goods and services. Content that facilitates the sale or manufacture of illegal drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or other contraband.
• Cybersecurity attacks. Malware, ransomware, phishing kits, or exploits targeting specific real-world systems without authorization.
• Election interference. Coordinated inauthentic behavior or mass-generated disinformation designed to manipulate electoral processes.
• Doxxing. Publishing or threatening to publish private personal information (home addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers) of individuals without consent.

5. Sensitive Content & Safety Measures

Some content is not strictly prohibited but requires care. Starlight may apply additional safety measures to the following categories:

• Depictions of violence or gore. Permitted in creative contexts (games, film, art) but may be filtered in certain modes or for certain account types.
• Profanity and mature language. Permitted by default. Unfiltered mode is available for users who want no language restrictions. Organizations may enforce stricter settings via admin controls.
• Political content. Permitted as personal expression. Coordinated or automated political campaigning is not.
• Health and medical information. The Service can generate informational content but does not provide medical advice. Output must not be presented as professional medical guidance.
• Legal information. The Service can generate legal information but does not provide legal advice. Output must not be presented as professional legal guidance.

Safety measures may include content warnings, output filtering, rate limiting, or requiring additional confirmation before generating sensitive content.

6. Intellectual Property

You must not use the Service to generate content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others. This includes:

• Generating content that reproduces copyrighted material you do not have rights to;
• Creating unauthorized copies of trademarked logos, brand assets, or proprietary designs;
• Generating content that misappropriates trade secrets or confidential information;
• Creating content that impersonates a real brand or product in a way likely to cause consumer confusion.

If you believe content generated through the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, please open a support ticket with the details required under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Our DMCA agent designation with the U.S. Copyright Office is pending and will be completed upon entity formation.

Parody, satire, and transformative works are generally permitted where they do not create a likelihood of confusion and are protected under fair use or equivalent doctrines.

7. Attribution & Disclosure

You are not required to attribute content generated by Starlight to the Service. However, you must not falsely represent AI-generated content as human-created in contexts where the distinction matters, such as:

• News articles or journalistic reporting presented as human-authored;
• Reviews or testimonials presented as genuine human opinions;
• Educational credentials or certifications presented as human-completed work;
• Public statements attributed to real people who did not make them.

For personal art, entertainment, and creative projects, disclosure is optional and left to your discretion.

8. User Liability & Shielding

You are solely and entirely responsible for any content you generate, publish, or distribute using the Service. Starlight does not produce, author, endorse, or take responsibility for the specific content of any Output.

You agree that Starlight, its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents shall not be held liable for any damages, claims, or legal actions arising from content you create using the Service. This includes but is not limited to claims of defamation, infringement, harassment, negligence, or any other cause of action based on the content or use of Output.

If any third party brings a claim against Starlight or any of its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, or agents arising from content you generated, you agree to indemnify and hold them harmless as provided in Section 10 of the Terms of Service.

You acknowledge that Starlight is a neutral tool provider and that any liability for content generated through the Service rests with you as the user and operator of the tool, not with Starlight or any individual associated with Starlight.

Nothing in this policy shall be construed as creating any duty of care owed by Starlight to you or any third party. Starlight does not undertake to monitor all content generated through the Service and makes no commitment to detect or prevent all violations of this policy.

9. Enforcement

We use a combination of automated systems and human review to detect violations of this policy. Enforcement actions may include:

• Warnings. For first-time or minor violations, we may issue a warning without restricting access.
• Content removal. We may remove or block specific outputs that violate this policy.
• Feature restrictions. We may limit access to certain generation modes, tools, or capabilities.
• Temporary suspension. We may temporarily suspend access to the Service for repeated or serious violations.
• Permanent termination. For severe or repeated violations, we may permanently terminate the account and bar future access.
• Legal action. Where violations involve illegal activity, we may report to or cooperate with law enforcement.

Enforcement decisions are made at our discretion based on the severity, context, and history of violations.

10. Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by opening a support ticket within 30 days of the action. Please include your account email and a brief explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect.

We will review appeals in good faith and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Decisions on appeals are final unless new information becomes available.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Content Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
